Best Ways To Vacuum Seal Liquids

Using A Chamber Vacuum Sealer

The most common way of vacuum sealing liquids and liquid-rich foods would be to use chamber vacuum sealers. There are easy to use and you have to follow a few different steps to learn how to use a food vacuum sealer. The first one would be to put the vacuum bag with your liquid inside the chamber. Then you will have to close the lid and start the vacuuming process. Because the pressure inside of the vacuum bag and outside is the same, only air is being sucked out, not the liquid.  After there is no air left in the bag, the machine will seal your bag. However, keep in mind that this type of vacuum cleaner is quite pricy and takes up a lot of the space in your home.

Using An External Vacuum Sealer

The second way you can easily vacuum seal liquids is by using a non-chamber vacuum sealer. However, there are a few tips you need to keep in mind when doing this since this type of vacuum sealer is mainly made for dry foods. That is why the most important thing is to freeze the liquid before you vacuum seal it. This method will take you longer, and it can also get quite messy, but it is a good alternative if you don’t have a chamber vacuum sealer. You can save time and purchase a freezer sealing machine that can both freeze and seal food.

Using Vacuum Canister

Another often-forgotten way of saving liquids is by using seal canisters. This is a great option for storing the foods short-term in your fridge. Some canisters seal manually with a dial or a knob to your vacuum sealer or canisters that hook up to your sealer with a separate hose. Keep in mind that these canisters should not be frozen, so you will need to use up the food inside, within a week or two.

Using Other Methods

And lastly, if you don’t own a vacuum sealer machine, you can use these few tips to get similar results. You can try to use zip-lock food bags and use the water bath method. You put the liquid food inside your zip-lock bag, place the bag in a deep container that is filled with water without putting the open end into the water. You have to squeeze out the air from the pack and zip-lock it. However, this method will not remove the air completely so the preservation may not last as long. Another way is to use specific zip-lock bags and a handheld vacuum sealer. It is cheaper than a countertop home vacuum sealer but also the preservation may not last as long.

To Wrap It Up

Out of all the ways of how to vacuum seal liquids the best way is definitely with the chamber vacuum sealer, as they are specifically designed for liquids. But they are quite expensive, so you might want to use one of the alternatives we mentioned in this article like heavy-duty vacuum sealers or a simple home vacuum sealer. All of the methods have their pros and cons, and it is really up to you to choose one that will suit you the best.
